2017 Team Football
Over the last few months we have identified that there is a growing interest from many of our 2017’s to play and learn more about the game. Where and when possible we are always keen to explore opportunities that will not only continue to excite and enthuse our young players but also challenge them in a positive and supportive way in their footballing journey.
Currently your child will be playing at one or more of our Play Football sessions during the week. Our Play Football is a brilliant place for children to learn and fall in love with the game. During their time at Play Football our younger players will learn the fundamental skills and social interactions required for them to enjoy and appreciate the game.
Every child is different and where some will be very happy playing once a week, there will be others that want to play 7 days a week!
An opportunity for us to create a 2017 Team session for those children who that can’t get enough football in their lives. Like our Play Football our Team Football is very much centred around a games based approach where children are continually active and engaged in playing.
Our Team Football sessions come under our PSP Player Pathway. Those signing up will typically attend x2 Team Football sessions per week and have the option as well of attending our Saturday morning Play Football at Knightswood on a Tuesday and Thursday (5pm - 6pm)
To kick off, our 2017 Team Programme will comprise of x2 training sessions per week. Once settled and coaches have time to work with individuals and the group, we will look to arrange games against other clubs. At such a young age we are very conscious that not all children are as keen on this more competitive element so we work closely to ensure we introduce players to this environment at the right time.
Our hope is that after the summer holidays we will have a group that will be ready to participate in regular weekly fixtures hosted by the Glasgow and District Youth Football Association on Sunday mornings at Toryglen Football Centre.
To register your child’s interest for these Team Football sessions it would be greatly appreciated if you can complete the form below. Once completed you will be contacted with additional information about the programme including costs and commitments ahead of signing up.
To facilitate games we are seeking between 2-4 additional volunteers to help support and assist in the delivery. This has been a very successful model for us with other age groups and volunteers are really enjoying the opportunity to help support on matchdays. Volunteers are pivotal in us being able to facilitate match day opportunities at the weekend. On the form below please indicate if you are in a position / interested in volunteering.
If you have any questions about our 2017 Team Football programme please don’t hesitate to get in touch and one of the team will be happy to answer any questions.
